Understand
Ipardes publishes monthly the variation of the Ipardes Regional Price Index – Food and Beverages (IPR – Food and Beverages), composed of 35 products, and covering Paraná and the cities of Cascavel, Curitiba, Foz do Iguaçu, Londrina, Maringá and Ponta Grossa.
The prices used to calculate the index are extracted from Electronic Consumer Invoices (NFC-e) issued by commercial establishments and made available by the Paraná State Revenue Service, respecting tax confidentiality criteria.
The composition of the product basket reflects the consumption pattern of families with incomes between 1 and 40 minimum wages, as portrayed by the IBGE's 2018 Household Budget Survey (POF). To calculate the IPR – Food and Beverages, approximately 382 thousand records of electronic consumer invoices (NFC-e) issued by 366 commercial establishments, distributed across six major municipalities in the State of Paraná, are used.
