RMM generates 6.180 new jobs with formal contracts in the 1st quarter

From January to April 2025, the Maringá Metropolitan Region (RMM) recorded a positive balance in the generation of jobs with formal contracts.

According to data from the General Registry of Employed and Unemployed Workers (Caged), consulted exclusively by the report, the RMM closed the first four months of the year with 1 new job openings. The Caged figures were recently released by the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE).

With the exception of four municipalities out of the 26 that make up the RMM, the tone is a blue outlook in the formal labor market.

As a regional hub and the largest city in terms of population in this area, Maringá has the most significant result, generating 4.096 new jobs in the year to date. This number is the result of 40.389 hires and 36.293 layoffs. The monthly stock is 170.113.

The services sector was the driving force behind the Maringá employment market, creating 1.951 jobs alone in the year to date.

Another segment that stands out is industry, with 787 new jobs from January to April. Next, industry, +783; commerce (+564); and agriculture (+11).

In second place is Jandaia do Sul, with the creation of 2 new jobs from January to April this year. In other words, the number of admissions (338) was higher than the number of layoffs (1.280); the monthly stock is 942. Unlike Cidade Canção, the industry sector is what drives the balance in Jandaia, generating 6.479 jobs, according to Caged.

Right behind is Sarandi, with 280 jobs in the first four months. This result is due to 1 admissions and 3.423 dismissals in the period; a monthly stock of 3.143. In the municipality bordering Maringá, the industry segment also stands out, with the generation of 14.032 jobs.

And, closing the “top 3”, is Paiçandu: 233 vacancies so far in 2025. There, the 1.738 hires surpassed the 1.505 layoffs from January to April; monthly stock of 7.064. Highlight for services, with 112 jobs created.

Of the 399 municipalities in Paraná, 326 registered more hires than layoffs, equivalent to 81,7% of the cities. Four cities remained with a stable level of employed workers (1%), while in only 69 there was a reduction in the overall number of vacancies (17,3%).

According to the Paraná Metropolitan Affairs Agency (Amep), the Maringá Metropolitan Region (RMM) is made up of 26 municipalities:
