Residents of Santa Fé, especially those linked to organized entities, authorities and students are being invited to debate the municipality's environmental issues next Thursday, the 23rd, during the 5th National Environmental Conference, which will be held at the Municipal Public Library.
Topics such as selective collection, sanitary landfill, afforestation, preservation of rivers and streams, flooding points during heavy rains will be part of the debates, and people will be able to present suggestions, which will then be taken, still in this quarter, to the conference at the state level and to the one that will take place at the national level, in May.
The conference is being organized by the Secretariat of Agriculture, Environment and Sanitation, through the Department of Environment. The Department is headed by radio host Marquinhos Alves, presenter of Radio Desterro.
“The Conference is an opportunity for the population to discuss their own city and suggest solutions to problems. These suggestions will be added to suggestions presented in other cities and then in a national event,” says Marquinhos Alves.

According to him, the simple fact that the city is discussing its environmental and climate issues will already be very important for raising awareness and for everyone to be clear about their role in the face of problems that are intensifying across the planet, such as the occurrence of floods, prolonged droughts and the increase in temperature year after year.
