The Rotaract Club of Santa Fé, with the support of Interact, is collecting new or used toys that are in good condition, as well as food to create basic Christmas baskets. Donations can also be made via PIX rotaract.santafe4630@gmail.com or by phone: (44) 99881-4918 and 99715-2293. There is also a collection point in the city's stores, at the Nore Tintas store, located at Avenida Presidente Kennedy, 1096.
Thamires Coutinho is the president of Rotaract and explains how the idea for the fundraiser came about. “We decided at the last minute, because Rotaract is in the process of being reactivated. We activated it about three months ago. Rotaract has meetings every 15 days and Interact is held weekly. We were thinking about what to do for Christmas. So, thinking about the current situation we are living in, which is not easy for everyone and that there are many families who will not have the money to give presents to their children, we decided to do the fundraiser. All we want for these children is a little hope. The main idea is for Santa Claus to come and deliver these toys. We want them to continue to believe in Christmas and for them to have this idea when they grow up that helping others is very good,” she says.
She reports that there is a list of needy children in the municipality acquired through the city hall and that as this is the first collection, there is no target.
The collection continues until this Wednesday (15).
